sometimes when there's no where to brace yourself so you can reduce the camera shake, you can try leaning as low as you can without losing your balance, turn on your display screen and macro setting, and hold it forward, bracing your elbows on your knees. frame your shot using the display screen instead of looking through the view finder. you won't really know if it's perfect or not until you get it on screen but i usually get one good pic out of three or four. anyways, by kneeling closer you could get a nice macro and keep it more in focus. or really even for this shot which is a little far for a macro, you could still take 2 or 3 of these with the macro setting turned on, from different sides of your subject, and get a better focus.
that being said, tho, this pic is great, and could benefit from adding a frame. i think you'd have some fun using a few photoshop filters on it and playing with the levels, but i'm not sure if you have photoshop. as it is, it has a nice contrast and an interesting subject.
what time of day did you get to take your pics?
